Mental health struggles are real — and so is recovery. Reach out today.
Suicide is a serious public health concern that affects people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. It is not a weakness — it often stems from overwhelming emotional pain and untreated mental health conditions.
In Malaysia, suicide rates have been rising, particularly among youth aged 15–30. Awareness and early intervention can save lives.
"People who talk about suicide are just seeking attention."
Most people who die by suicide gave clear warning signs beforehand. Always take such talk seriously.
"Asking about suicide plants the idea."
Research shows that asking directly about suicidal thoughts does NOT increase risk — it can open the door to help.
Recognising the signs. Starting the conversation. Saving a life.
Suicidal behaviour ranges from thoughts of ending one's life (ideation), to planning, attempting, and completing suicide. It is typically the result of a complex mix of biological, psychological, and social factors — not a personal failing.
Risk factors include:
"Every 40 seconds, someone in the world dies by suicide. Yet most suicides are preventable with timely care and support."
